Can a practice transform your life? Can yoga or other forms of fitness transform how you think, feel, perceive the world, and lead your life?
Yes, it can. Bethany Smith is a yoga teacher who I recently met at a local fitness studio. I fell in love with her classes and became obsessed with yoga as well. There were strong feelings that her life was influenced by yoga dramatically, and indeed it was.
She went from a new mom trying to lose the baby weight, depressed, diagnosed with a bipolar disorder, taking 4 different medications, and feeling hopeless about her personal struggles to a 180-degree turn and finding herself, getting off the meds, and becoming one of the best yoga teachers I know.
