How to Create Abundance: 10 Tips for Your Wellness

Abundance. What comes to your mind first?

According to Google, abundance is
1) “A very large quantity of something”
2) “The state or condition of having a copious quantity of something; plentifulness”
3) “Plentifulness of the good things of life; prosperity”

Nah, I am not trying to be witty here. The thing is I have been on a podcast kick lately due to my long runs and heart rate training, and I needed to listen to something for hours not to get bored. I was thrilled to run into (get it?) this incredible inspirational duo and their recent podcast episode.

Both, Tim Ferriss and Anthony Robbins are my heroes for many reasons. Inspirational, intelligent, always learning and developing, and helping others. Both are the most efficient, productive, and fulfilled people I know. While it was extremely helpful to get a positive kick in the patoot, this podcast made me think about possible ways to create and achieve abundance, prosperity, and wellness. I thought for hours till my brain started to hurt.

Finding love for myself

I thought about how fortunate I am right now: doing what I love, living healthy, getting stronger and faster every day, being surrounded by incredible people, being able to learn every day, being able to travel, speak, teach, live in a country I love, being able to inspire others, and so much more. While I still have quite ambitious goals, I am where I always wanted to be, and that pushed me to go out in the world and help others to do the same. That is just phenomenal, in my mind.

Anyhow. Back in the beginning of 2012, it was not the same. I felt like I was always missing something. I was struggling with my health, I was extremely concerned about being kicked out of the country due to the lack of a job straight out of college, my relationships were falling through the cracks, and I was barely making my ends meet. See the pattern?

Then I had a bad breakup. Unexpected, over an email, painful and meaningless breakup. While I could not understand at the moment why it was happening to me…Need to say now I know it is one of the best things that happened to me (or for me?) that year. If it did not, my life might have never been the same.  So that summer while I was visiting my parents, and spending quite some time being upset and getting over it… I suddenly started eating meat. After being a vegetarian for over 10 years. I quit sugar and grains. I went for a run for the first time for more than a mile.

The Art of Small Steps to achieve abundance

Those three things were very small changes that I have been dreading for a while. I wanted to be better, healthier, happier. All of them resulted in me feeling super energized, positive, and much healthier physically and mentally in just a couple of weeks. They ended up initiating something big in my life. I spent the entire summer at my parents’ house, training for my first half marathon, working on my business, learning more about myself, and abundance I started to create in my life.

I have decided once and for all there was plenty of everything around me, and I just need to see it through a different lens. It was a determination, a desire, a desperate gasp for air. I knew intuitively I wanted a higher level of happiness and fulfillment. So I went for it. Scary, huh?

Fast forward 4.5 years. You can read what happened to me here. It paid off. As a result, everything – investing time and effort in myself, my health, my new ways of thinking and living, my meticulous habit building and mind polishing. It keeps paying off and teaching me more about living a  fulfilled life every single day.

Create the mindset of abundance, not scarcity

Now that I started teaching clients about health, food, fitness, and the best ways to achieve longevity of life and vitality, I can clearly see that the concept of abundance is what people do not understand when it comes to health. And that’s okay. It takes time and effort to see it.

They see it as “I am going to miss my bread”, “I don’t know how I am going to live without my Friday night drink”, “I do not want to hurt and be sore for days after exercising”, etc.  So instead of feeling deprived of certain things, people, or events in life, one could focus on shifting the paradigm towards thinking in terms of creating the abundance: of health, of strength, of positive, non-toxic people in your life, of wealth, success, and everyday fulfillment.

There are small steps you could take today. Small steps starting with your own self that will influence everything around you. Seems like some of them are so small that you’d probably laugh trying to correlate them to the concept of abundance. But they work. They work for people like Tim Ferriss, Tony Robbins, Oprah, and others. The wealth of knowledge that these guys possess is available to anyone, it is just the matter of finding time for yourself to start learning. Some of them are simple health tips that that can create an instant improvement for your daily routines.

How to create abundance: 10 small steps for your wellness

1. Accept yourself. 

Just the way you are, without beating yourself up and consistently telling yourself you are not good enough, you are not strong enough, you don’t have a willpower etc. Yes, you are – strong, beautiful, smart, and you can always improve for the better.

2. Practice gratitude.

One of the most powerful tools that humanity has is gratitude. Start writing down just 3 things you are grateful for every night before going to bed. See how things change in just a few weeks.

3. Let go.

Let go of poor relationships, bad food, toxic chemicals, and concepts that don’t serve you well. Get rid of negativity, pessimism, and expectations others placed on you. Let go of anything that holds you up, and prevents you from achieving your health, strength, and positivity.

4. Dream big.

And then dream bigger. Try it as an exercise. Imagine the most incredible dream of yours. Then double it in size, concept, or quality, and go for it. It is yours as soon as you start going for it. Don’t allow anyone to limit your intentions or dreams, whether it is running a 5K for the first time, or developing a cure for an incurable disease.

5. Celebrate.

Big and small things deserve a celebration! Lost a few pounds? Was able to get upstairs without feeling suffocated? Got an award at work or school? Scored an awesome date? Celebrate! A positive celebration will always attract more of good stuff to your life.

6. The art of small steps.

You may not be able to commit to eating healthy right off the bat, but you can definitely start eating better: eliminating sugar or quitting alcohol. You might not be able to run a mile yet, but nothing stops you from walking one. The art of small steps is how people become healthier, stronger, wealthier, and happier with their lives. It is the matter of taking that first small step. And then another one. And then more. Creating an abundance of habits that will serve you well.

7. Act like you have it all.

Yes!! Act like a boss. Perform like an elite sportsman. Act like a president. Pretend to be the best husband. Be chirpy like the happiest person you know. By that I don’t mean to fake it, nobody wants to see that 🙂 Act from within. You deserve to be who you want to be. So start feeling it now!

8. Forgive.

It goes along the lines of letting go, but often we place such high demands on others and ourselves, we forget to forgive. Forgive yourself for not being perfect, not being able to do everything at once, not succeeding right away. If you forgive others for not being perfect as well, you will create a healthy environment, and be able to create more of what you want: love, acceptance, and fulfillment.

9. Do more of what you love.

Enjoy whatever you love most – spending time with family, reading, helping others, learning, eating (stay away from pizza, please?), training, writing – pretty much anything. By doing more of your favorite things, you will become a person that inspires YOU a lot.

10. Invest in yourself.

Finally, it is one of the best things you could do to create the abundance of anything in your life if you invest in yourself. Like with any financial investment, it takes time and a significant amount of whatever you are investing. Many people are scared that investing (time, money, effort) will not bring the results, will chip off time and effort from other things, and will deplete their resources. Without spending time and effort on yourself, it is pretty hard to achieve greatness and amazing results when it comes to your health and quality of life. So do it!
